Starflower Trellis

Another papercutting, for Mother's day. :3 This was done a while ago and I just haven't gotten around to uploading it before now because I'm a slowbutt and I had to drive to Ohio. But here you are!

This was...precocious. It's by far the most complicated snowflake I think I've attempted, at least since [link] but that one was a 4-panel instead of an 8-panel so it was a lot easier to cut. My hand was soooore after this one, haha. I almost screwed it up because I wasn't paying enough attention, and caught myself just before I snipped the hummingbirds off completely (They are only attached to the main design by their beaks...they are attached to each other, but their tails don't connect to the flower...it's complicated). Anyway, something special for my mom because she loves gardening and she puts up with me.

In other news, I took a bunch of pictures of my process for this one (it took about an hour total), so I'll try to put together a tutorial for those of you who want to learn how to do this. Keep an eye out!
